We beat Arsenal 2 – 0!
Didier Drogba made an impressive return to Stamford Bridge as he put two past Arsenal to send us back to the top of the Premier League.
Chelsea dominated the match and Petr Cech kept his 100th Premier League clean sheet.
A mid-air clash with Gaël Clichy was to produce Chelsea's first goal. With Drogba taking the free-kick 30 yards from the net, Theo Walcott headed the ball out for a corner – which Florent Malouda stepped up to take.
When the ball came curling into the box, John Terry’s header sent it soaring towards the far post where Drogba was waiting to tap past Manuel Almunia.
It was Drogba who got the second, too, by breaking down the right with a great ball received from Frank Lampard. He then cut inside Clichy before shooting a left-footed shot into the net from 10 yards out.
It was 2-0 before half time!
The second half saw more chances for the Blues as well as Arsenal attempting to fight back with shots at their end. But it was Chelsea who came out victorious to reclaim our spot at the top of the Premier League.
‘It’s not easy against this team, but I don’t give up. I always try,’ said Drogba. ‘We’ve got points from this game and that’s really important.’
