Chelsea stars were in action over the weekend in a number of international games, with Michael Essien becoming the first Blues player to qualify for the 2010 World Cup Finals. He scored in Ghana's Sunday win over Sudan on Sunday.
José Bosingwa, Ricardo Carvalho and Deco all played in Portugal's 1-1 draw with Denmark.
Anelka and Malouda couldn't help France's hopes of an automatic place in the World Cup Finals after a 1-1 home draw against Romania, and Petr Cech's Czech Republic were also held to a 2-2 draw at their group leaders Slovakia.
There was better news for Drogba after his African World Cup qualifying game. Our Ivory Coast star scored twice in a 5-0 win over Burkina Faso. Salomon Kalou also played the whole game to help their side keep a 100 per cent record in the qualifying stages.
In England's friendly against Slovenia, Lamps was on typical form. He converted a penalty in the first half to secure a 2-1 win.
Ashley Cole and John Terry also played for England, and Cole was named man of the match as he took his excellent club form onto the international stage.
