Chelsea 1-1 PSG
23/07/2012
Chelsea earned a good draw against French side PSG last night at the Yankee Stadium in New York. PSG, managed by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, have been spending a lot of money on new signings, so this was always going to be a tough match for the Blues!
Chelsea had JT on the bench after he joined up with the squad for the rest of the tour, while former Napoli striker Lavezzi was up front for PSG.
The French side looked good in the first half, and after creating a number of chances, they eventually took the lead after 29 minutes. Pastore found space in the box and hit a shot against the post, but it came back to Nene who found the net to put PSG ahead.
Roberto Di Matteo made a number of changes at half time, and then again on 62 minutes, with JT coming on for his first pre-season game with the Blues looking for an equaliser.
The Chelsea goal came with less than 10 minutes remaining and it was 'made in Brazil'. Academy star Piazon played a neat one-two with Ramires and then cooly slotted the ball into the net past Douchez in the PSG goal!
Chelsea even had a chance to win the game when Malouda had a late chance, but his shot from close range came off the keeper's legs. In the end though, a draw was a fair result and it keeps the Blues' unbeaten run going!
