Cheslea 3-2 Shakhtar
It was yet another amazing night at the Bridge yesterday as Chelsea beat Shakhtar to go top joint top of Group E in the Champions League.
Ahead of the match, the Blues welcomed back Juan Mata and David Luiz to the starting line up, while Ryan Bertrand replaced the injured Ashley Cole at left back.
Chelsea wasted no time in putting pressure on Shakhtar at the start of the match, and it paid off after just six minutes. Shakhtar keeper Pyatov had his clearance charged down by Torres after the Blues striker closed him down quickly – the ball flew off his leg and into the net to give Chelsea the lead!
There was no doubt that Shakhtar are a strong team however, and they pulled level just three minutes later. Fernadinho found Willian in the box and the Brazillian winger smashed his shot through a crowd of players into the net.
Both sides were now attacking as the game went from end to end, but it was Chelsea who got the next goal, and it was a stunner! Pyatov came out fhe box to head the ball away, but it fell to Oscar 40 yards out, who controlled it beautifully and struck an incredible volley over the keeper's head and into the empty net!
The Blues reached half time in front, but another Shakhtar equaliser came just two minutes into the second half. Srna got the ball out wide and his pass found Willian who again showed he has a cool head as he stroked the ball into the net.
Both sides were now pressing for a winner and the Blues were lucky not to go 3-2 down midway through the half. Razvan Rat found space outside the Chelsea box and smashed a low shot at goal, but it came back off the post with Cech beaten.
As time ran out, it was looking like the Blues would finish with just a point, which would allow Juventus to jump above them into second place. Then, in the fourth minute of injury time, the Blues one a corner, which Mata fired into the box and Victor Moses headed high into the net!
It was an incredible finish and gives the Blues a great chance of reaching the last 16 of the competition!
