Blues on tour
27/06/2012
The start of Chelsea’s USA tour is less
than a month away, and while many of the players have been concentrating on the
European Championship, pre-season preparation will be hovering in the back of
their minds.
The Chelsea squad are heading west to the
United States to play in some of the biggest and best stadiums of America.
Chelsea will be play friendlies against four teams from both European leagues and
the MLS – America’s version of the Premier League.
On 18 July the Blues will start the tour against
the Seattle Sounders. The American team has an impressive record having
dominated the US Open Cup by winning it three years in a row!
The second match will see Chelsea play
French Ligue 1’s runners-up Paris Saint-Germain, who have ex-Chelsea boss Carlo
Ancellotti as their manager. The game will be the first time a football match
has been played in the new Yankee Stadium in New York.
Next up are the MLS All-Stars in
Philadelphia on 25 July. The fans of MLS vote on which players make the squads
and they choose from all the clubs, so the Chelsea boys will have to be
prepared to face the best the MLS has to offer!
The final match is against European giants
AC Milan on 28 July. The Italian Serie A runners-up are always a threat and should
make for an exciting end to the tour.
Remember
that you can watch all the matches live on Chelsea TV and read previews and
