West Brom 2-1 Chelsea
Chelsea lost out to West Brom on Saturday as former Blues legend Steve Clarke masterminded the home side's victory against his old club.
Roberto Di Matteo had to rest several key players from his starting line-up following a busy international week, so Mata, Ramires and Oscar were all on the bench along with Cole who wasn't quite ready to return to the first team.
The Blues nearly took the lead early on, but Moses got the ball to Bertrand who looked like he had scored, but his shot was cleared off the line!
Minutes later, things got worse for Chelsea when they lost a goal on 10 minutes. Morrison swung a cross in from the left and Long found space to head past Cech to make it 1-0.
Chelsea pushed forward looking for the equaliser and Mikel and Sturridge both had decent efforts on goal. Finally the pressure paid off and the Blues got the equaliser when a back post header by Hazard was deflected into the net off West Brom's Billy Jones!
The second half saw Chelsea pushing forward to get ahead, but they were hit on the break just five minutes after the break. Shane Long sent the ball into the near post and Odemwingie found space to head into the net!
Chelsea pushed on looking for another equaliser, and Sturridge came close on 77 minutes when his shot was well saved by Myhill. Then with just four minutes left Sturridge had another great chance to score, but his shot from close range went wide of the target!
