Blues face Forest in League Cup

Chelsea host Championship side Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge tonight, in their first match of this season's League Cup.

Forest, who won both their First and Second Round matches against lower league opposition, are tenth in the Championship table, with four wins and four losses.

Their last cup match was a comfortable 3-0 win over Cheltenham, but they were beaten by Wolves in their league match over the weekend.

Chelsea, meanwhile, played a tight 0-0 draw against Arsenal over the weekend, but won four matches in a row before it.

Both sides have a great history in the League Cup, sitting fourth and sixth in the all-time winners table.

The Blues have won the competition five times and played in seven finals, while Forest have won it four times and played in six.

However, the last time the two sides faced each other in the competition was way back in 1971, when the Blues won a third round replay 2-1.

Since then, they have played each other in the league numerous times, and the FA Cup twice. Again, both FA Cup matches, 2000 and 2007, ended in a Chelsea win.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm tonight. Check out BridgeKids tomorrow for a full match report.
