Chelsea travel to Norwich for FA Cup

The Blues take on the Norwich on Saturday for their first FA Cup match of the season!

Chelsea haven't lost to the East Anglian side since 1994, even though they have played them 13 times since then.

Of the 10 times they have beaten Norwich in the last 23 years, two have come in the FA Cup.

Both were 4-0 home wins for the Blues, in 2002 and 2007. The 2002 Chelsea side needed a replay in their third round match after drawing 0-0 away at Norwich.

The 2007 match came in the fifth round of the cup, and Didier Drogba was on the scoresheet! Check out the photo of his goal above!

Chelsea went all the way to the final that year, beating Manchester United 1-0 to secure the Premier League and FA Cup double! It was the first FA Cup final ever played at the new Wembley Stadium.

The first time Chelsea and Norwich met was also in the third round of the FA Cup, way back in 1936.

Chelsea needed a replay then as well, but won 3-1 in the home tie thanks to a Joseph Bambrick hat-trick!

Chelsea legend Bambrick actually has history with Chelsea's last opponents, Arsenal, as well, who the Blues drew with on Wednesday. The striker found the back of the Arsenal net in front of a crowd of 82,905 at Stamford Bridge, which is the ground's highest ever attendance! Like Wednesday, that 1935 match also ended in a draw.

The most recent matches between Chelsea and Norwich were in the league, during the 2015-16 season. Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa scored the winning goal in both games.

After the hectic Christmas period, and with a League Cup semi-final on Wednesday, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte may rotate his team.

Thankfully there is no one injured, so Conte can call on any of his experienced players.

The match kicks off at 5.30pm UK time on Saturday. Check out BridgeKids soon after for a full match preview!
