Chelsea lose to Spurs at home

Chelsea were beaten 3-1 by Tottenham Hotspur during a frustrating afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

Two goals from Dele Alli and a strike from Christian Eriksen were too much for Conte’s men, even though the Blues went a goal up after a header from Alvaro Morata.

It started really well for Chelsea! The Blues looked confident as they attacked in the first half hour. Especially after Morata managed to get a goal ruled offside.

The attacking play soon paid off, with Morata getting his goal in the 30th minute. Toni Rudiger found Victor Moses on the right-hand side of the pitch, who then put a perfect cross into the box where Morata was waiting to head it in.

Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for the opposition to respond.

After a Spurs attack that was nicely cut out by Caballero, and an attempt on goal from Kante, it looked like we were about to go into the second half with the lead. That was until Eriken managed to strike the ball from 30 years and beat our keeper to draw level.

Even though we conceded a goal towards the end of the half, it didn’t stop the Blues from going into the second with confidence! Azpilicueta brilliantly chased down a loose ball and offered up a teasing cross, before it was cleared by Dembele.

Soon after, Caballero was on hand again to produce a great save when Son made a shot into the top right corner of the goal.

Unfortunately, what happened next changed the game completely.

Out of nowhere, Eric Dyer crossed the ball over to Dele Alli, who managed to bring it down and chip it over Caballero and into the back of the net.

After conceding, it looked like the Blues responded well, with Willian unlucky that his strike went just wide of the goal.

This soon changed however, when Dele Alli managed to score another goal after the ball became loose and no one was around to clear it.

The Blues fought their hardest, but couldn’t quite manage to get back on the scoreboard. The final score was 1-3 to Spurs.
