Antonio Conte: manager of the year!

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has won both the LMA Manager of the Year and the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Season awards.

The Blues boss led Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first year in England football, also breaking the record for number of wins in a Premier League season.

Conte's strategic impact has been obvious at key points in the season. After losing 3-0 at Arsenal in the first half of the season, Conte switched his formation to 3-5-3.

The Blues then went on an incredible 13-game winning run in the league, which catapulted them to the top of the table.

The Italian is the only manager this season who has used all three substitutes in every game, often with great results.

In the Blues August win over Watford, substitute Michy Batshuayi scored an equaliser, before another sub, Cesc Fabregas, set up Diego Costa to score the winner.

Perhaps the most memorable impact sub, however, was Michy Batshuayi against West Brom. The Blues striker scored the goal that won them the title!

‘Thank you very much,’ said Conte. ‘It is incredible. It is my first season here in England and I want to say thanks to all the people that voted for me. It is great to receive this award. I hope to deserve this.’
