Friday Facts: Alvaro Morata

Hi BridgeKids!

Alvaro Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid this summer to lead Antonio Conte's attack.

Even though he's only 24, the Spanish striker has already won league and cup titles in two countries!

But that's just the start! Here are my five favourite facts about the new Chelsea striker!

1. Morata has won at least one league trophy four times in the last six seasons! He won the La Liga title with Real Madrid in 2011-12 and last season, in 2016–17. Between those years, he helped Juventus to back-to-back Serie A titles in 2014–15 and 2015–16!

2. You may notice I said 'at least one'... that's because the Spaniard won two league trophies in 2011-12! As well as La Liga, Morata played enough times for Real Madrid Castilla to earn a Segunda División B medal.

3. Morata has nine goals in 20 appearances for Spain! He scored an impressive seven goals in 12 appearances last year!

4. Last season, Morata scored 15 La Liga goals in 26 appearances for Real Madrid. Because he came on as a substitute for many of those games, he actually scored a goal every 89 minutes! That's better than a goal a game!

5. Before being promoted to the full Spanish team, Morata won the Golden Boot for the 2011 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship! Spain won both tournaments!

I can't wait to see Morata play for Chelsea in a competitive match, which might happen this Sunday against Arsenal!
