Blues feature in internationals

Michy Batshuayi is just one Blue in action for his national side this week, and took his fine end-of-the-season form to Belgium.

The striker scored the opener for a side that also included Thibaut Courtois. Eden Hazard was unlucky to miss out through injury. Tomas Kalas played in defence for the Czech Republic.

Andreas Christensen was in a Denmark side that was denied a famous win over World Cup champions Germany in another friendly.

Pedro, Diego Costa and Cesar Azpilicueta face their first test of the summer football calendar with Spain this evening when they take on Colombia. After that friendly, the three Blues look to a World Cup qualifier against Macedonia on Sunday.

Nemanja Matic, meanwhile, is hoping to start for Serbia in their World Cup qualifier at home to Wales on Sunday.

N’Golo Kante and Kurt Zouma have a World Cup qualifier against Sweden on Friday with France, before facing England in a friendly next week. Gary Cahill is in the England squad that faces Scotland on Saturday before travelling across the Channel.

David Luiz and Willian are in the Brazil squad for two upcoming friendlies, while, in Africa, Burkina Faso's Bertrand Traore and  Nigeria's Ola Aina and Kenneth Omeruo face Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

At junior level, Fikayo Tomori and Jake Clarke-Salter have helped guide England Under-20s to the semi-finals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, at Under-21 level, Nathaniel Chalobah, Lewis Baker and Tammy Abraham have been selected in Aidy Boothroyd's England squad for the European Championships.

Unfortunately, injury has ruled out Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Izzy Brown.
