Stat Attack: Joe Cole!

Chelsea legend Joe Cole has announced his retirement after 20 incredible years!

To celebrate, we thought we would create a special BridgeKids Stat Attack of all Joe's greatest moments.

A Chelsea legend

Joe won seven major trophies during his time with Chelsea, plus one more while he was at West Ham United. That's eight in total!

Joe helped the Blues lift three Premier League titles, two FA Cups, a Football League Cup and a Community Shield!

The midfield maestro was voted Chelsea Player of the Year in 2007-08, when the Blues made it to the Champions League final.

He was also voted into the PFA Team of the Year in 2005–06, when the Blues made it two Premier League wins in a row!

A brilliant goal scorer

Joe Cole spent seven seasons with Chelsea, scoring an amazing 40 goals in all competitions! In the 2005-06 season, Joe scored one of the goals in the Blues' 3-0 win over Manchester United that secured them the Premier League.

Joe has also had a brilliant international career, scoring 10 goals in 56 appearances for England!

The midfielder had a starring role in the 2006 World Cup, as England made it to the quarter-finals, scoring one of the goals of the tournament against Sweden.

Joe's farewell message

"There are key moments in every professional’s career," said Joe. "One of mine came when I was a young West Ham player. A senior pro, who was nearing his own retirement, said to me: 'Enjoy every game, young man. It goes by in the blink of an eye and you’ll miss it badly after it’s gone.” He was right. Those words resonate even more now than they did back then. I tried to play and live by his advice every single day because being a professional footballer is an absolute honour."

The honour has been all ours, Joe!
