Chelsea Ladies take on Arsenal

Chelsea Ladies host Arsenal on Wednesday evening in their third game of the Women's Super League season.

The Blues scored an amazing 10 goals without reply in their first two matches, but will have to step up their game to get the better of two-time champions Arsenal.

The Blues are currently in third place, but are the only team with a 100% winning record. Manchester City in first have played two extra games, while Liverpool in second have played one more game than Chelsea.

Arsenal, like Liverpool, have also played three matches, and sit just beneath Chelsea in fourth.

Although Chelsea Ladies beat Arsenal Ladies away last season, the 2-1 defeat to the Gunners at Wheatsheaf Park will still be fresh in their minds.

The biggest win for Arsenal, though, was the 1-0 FA Cup final win that denied Chelsea their first shot at silverware last season.

Since then, Blues boss Emma Hayes has rebuilt her teams, bringing in exciting internationals Ramona Bachmann, Crystal Dunn and Maren Mjelde, as well as future star Erin Cuthbert. Former Notts County goalkeeper Carly Telford has also rejoined the Blues, after her club sadly folded.

So far, the combination of seasoned Blues and fresh talent has been perfect for Hayes's side, and she will be hoping that they can get the balance right again on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 7.35pm on Wednesday. Check out BridgeKids on Thursday for a full match report.
