Chelsea 3-1 Crystal Palace

Alvaro Morata scored two as Chelsea overpowered Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

Maurizio Sarri’s amazing run of form as Chelsea manager continues, as his team reach 11 games unbeaten!

Morata and Pedro both made it on the score sheet, but Palace didn’t make it easy! They scored early in the second half to put the fears equalise 1-1.

The match began with Willian and Ross Barkley looking threatening, launching in low balls towards goal. But Palace were also looking dangerous, with Patrick van Aanholt sending in some dangerous crosses.

In the 19th minute, Palace tried twice to beat our defence and score. However, David Luiz had other ideas, and prevented any real threat.

In the 32nd minute, Morata broke the deadlock and scored for the Blues! The move began by Cesar Azpilicueta, who made a run into the Palace half before feeding the ball to Pedro. The Spaniard then found Morata, who turned on the ball and smashed it into the net!

After this, the Blues looked like they could score every time they got the ball! However, Palace defended well and the first half finished 1-0.

After the restart, we were suddenly faced with a reality check when Palace surprisingly equalised thanks to a goal from Andros Townsend.

It was a nicely worked goal from the visitors, and meant the pressure was on for the Blues to find more goals.

And who better to help find these goals than Eden Hazard, who was soon introduced and immediately made an impact!

The Belgium star delivered in a free-kick which bounced all the way to a lurking Morata, who chested the ball down and smashed it with his left foot. Another goal for the Spanish striker!

With the Blues now confidently taking the lead, the momentum lead us to scoring another to put the cherry on the top of a great afternoon of football!

This goal came in the 65th minute from Pedro, who drilled in a low shot from Alonso’s low cross.

As the game was about to finish, Morata nearly scored again! The hattrick wasn’t meant to be however, and the match finished 3-1 to the Blues.

Sarri’s unbeaten start continues!
