Chelsea host Qarabag in UCL

Chelsea kick off their Champions League campaign against Qarabag this evening, hosting the Azerbaijani side as they make their debut in the competition.

Qarabag is the first side from Azerbaijan to reach the knockout stages, but it's a team with a rich footballing history. Qarabag is in Baku, Azerbaijan's capital city, while Azerbaijan can be found south of Russia and East of Turkey on the globe.

Qarabag won the Azerbaijan league for the first in 1993, but had to wait 21 years for their next title. Since their second win in 2013/14, however, they have won the league every season since.

Their first match against English opposition was in the 2015/16 Europa League, when Tottenham beat them 4-1 on aggregate over two legs.

The Blues take on Qarabag at Stamford Bridge tonight, with the match kicking off at 7.45pm.

New signing Danny Drinkwater is Chelsea's only injured player, so Antonio Conte has a nearly full roster to choose from.

Captain Gary Cahill returns from suspension, while Eden Hazard is fit again after an injury.
