Welcome to Chelsea Ross Barkley!

Chelsea have signed England midfielder Ross Barkley from Everton!

Barkley is currently recovering from an injury, but has been able to train with the Chelsea coaches as he nears full match fitness!

‘We are talking about an English player, a young player, with good prospects for Chelsea,’ said manager Antonio Conte. ‘It’s a good opportunity for the club to buy this player. He’s a good prospect.

‘He’s very young, I think he has a lot of space for improvement, he’s very strong physically with good technique.’

Due to his long injury lay-off, Barkley can play in all four competitions the Blues are involved in this season!

An Evertonian through and through, Barkley learned his football in the Everton academy, before making his debut in the 2011–12 season.

Short loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United followed, before the midfielder returned to Everton to become a regular starter.

Barkley scored 27 goals in 179 appearances for the Toffees, and earned an England call-up in 2013. He became a regular in the national team, and got goals against San Marino and Lithuania!

The new Chelsea signing can play anywhere across midfield, and will give Conte a great option when he has fully recovered from his injury!
