Chelsea beat the Swans!

29/04/2018

Chelsea's trip to Swansea was victorious as the Blues took home all three points thanks to a Cesc Fabregas goal! It was the Spanish midfielder's 50th Premier League goal!

The home team put up a good fight, especially in the second half, but it wasn't enough to beat the Blues!

Antonio Conte decided to stick with Oliver Giroud up front, who's been playing brilliantly recently! First-choice keeper Thibaut Courtois returned, along with midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Fabregas hadn't scored in five months, but it took him less than five minutes into this game to find the back of the net!

Three and a half minutes into the match, N'Golo Kante got the ball moving forward before passing to Eden Hazard, who played a short pass towards Fabregas, who neatly curled the ball beyond Swans keeper Fabianski!

With the home side conceding so early into the game, it was never going to be easy for them to recover, especially with the mood Chelsea were in. They were hungry for more goals!

After a few attempts - one scuppered after Hazard slipped on the slippery pitch - the Blues came close to scoring again. This time after a Fabregas corner was nearly turned in by Giroud, only for Swansea defender Alfie Mawson to lift the ball onto his own crossbar!

The first half played out without too much worry for the Blues, but things were about to heat up in the second half!

Soon into the second half, Swansea striker Andre Ayew tried tap in a goal after a particularly threatening cross, only for Blues defender Antonio Rudiger to make an important challenge.

Not long after, Victor Moses came so close to scoring! Fabregas and Hazard worked the ball forward, feeding it to Moses, who just shot the ball just wide!

As the second half went on, Swansea started attacking hard! Andre Ayew made another unsuccessful attempt on goal, before Kyle Norton fired a shot right towards Courtois.

It was time for Conte to make a sub, and attacking trio Willian, Pedro and Alvaro Morata were the chosen ones!

Even with this attacking substitution, it was the Swans that came close to scoring next! Lucky for us though, Tom Carroll's shot went wide, and managed to play out the rest of the game without conceding.

This leaves us with another three points! Swansea however are in a dangerous position, with relegation a real possibility.
