Young Blues in U20 World Cup win

Jake Clarke-Salter (pictured) and Fikayo Tomori starred in central defence as England Under-20s won the FIFA U20 World Cup final, beating Venezuela 1-0.

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the only goal, coolly finishing after his first volley was saved by the Venezuela goalkeeper.

Venezuela had two great opportunities to equalise, including a penalty in the second half after Clarke-Salter was judged to have brought down the opposition striker with his last-ditch tackle.

Newcastle's Freddie Woodman made a brilliant save, however, to deny Adalberto Penaranda from the spot.

It's England's first World Cup win at any level since 1966!

Five Blues also celebrated another brilliant tournament win over the weekend.

Josh Grant and Reece James started in defence as England U21s won the Toulon Tournament for the second year running. Ike Ugbo and Tariq Uwakwe came on as substitutes, with Ugbo scoring the first goal of the penalty shoot-out after the teams finished normal time at 1-1.

Martell Taylor-Crossdale, who had already scored two goals in the tournament, was on the bench.
